Hymns...still great worship songs!

They may be old, but they are not dead.

Hymns have been around for centuries, and they are not going away any time soon. They are a great part of out history. When many of our classic hymns where written, the authors where under great stress. They were often living in fear for their lives, and this is what caused them to write the great praise and worship songs that we sing today.

On Sunday mornings from one coast to the other, you will hear people sing these hymns as they sing together praising God. Hymns are just a part of the Christian worship songs that we sing, but they are an important part. We often forget that even worship songs that were written many years ago still mean the same thing as they did when they were first written.

I encourage you, the next time you go to Church on a Sunday morning, that you really listen to the words of these great hymns.
